Gerwisch shines in the state competition: 1,300 euros for innovative village projects!
Gerwisch, a village in Jerichower Land, successfully started his participation in the nationwide competition "Our village has future". This competition is a platform for towns of up to 3,000 inhabitants to present innovative projects and ideas for a livable village life. The initiative aims to give citizens the opportunity to show their local topics and the special characteristics of their village community.
On October 15, the village presented its presentation for the first time a specialist jury, for which Dr. Steffen Burchardt, District Administrator of Jerichower Land, Jens Eckhardt, board member of Sparkasse Magdeburg, and Andrea Eimkemeier-Bertam from the Ministry of Economics, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt belonged. The committed preparation for this moment included numerous meetings in the home club and cooperation with other local organizations.
presentation and jury rating
The Lentges Hall served as an ideal place for the performance. The chairman of the home club, Detlef Marggraf, opened the event with an overview of the most important characteristics of Gerwisch. The former mayor, Karla Michalski, gave insights into the long history of the village. Diana Präger from the mixed choir and Mirko Bach from SG Blau-Weiß Gerwisch then presented the two largest and most active clubs in the place. The event was moderated by 16-year-old Katharina Jung, the youngest member of the home club.
The jury received the opportunity to get a comprehensive picture during a Kremsrahn through the village. Information was presented at various stops, such as the fire brigade, sports hall and church, which gave the jurors a lively impression of the village community. Despite the critical exams, the jury praised the presentation and gave valuable feedback for the further steps in the competition.
In order to reward the good performance of the Gerwischer, they were granted a financial grant from the Sparkasse Magdeburg of 500 euros. In addition, there was 800 euros for the recognition of civil activities, provided by the Ministry of Economics, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry in the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
With this support and the knowledge gained from the presentation, the village is now preparing for the next step in the state competition. By participating in such a competition, not only the identity of the community is strengthened, but also raised awareness of the challenges and opportunities of life in the country.
