Bodo, Dominik and Peavy: Stories from Dortmund's heart in December!
In December, the street magazine “bodo” shines in new splendor – with an impressive quarter more size! The issue is packed with stories that touch the heart. Bodo Rauhut, the creative woodworm, teaches children about crafts with wood. Dominik Bloh, a survival artist, talks about his journey from homeless to best-selling author and talk show star. And the siblings Amar and Huda Refai, who fled war-torn Homs to Dortmund ten years ago, share their moving story of arrival.
But that's not all! Peavy Wagner, the frontman of the legendary heavy metal band Rage, is not only celebrating his 60th birthday, but also the 40th anniversary of his band. He has shaped the metal scene with 26 studio albums and remains loyal to his hometown of Herne. Meanwhile, the situation for homeless people in Dortmund remains tense: there is a lack of low-threshold accommodation options, and an urgently needed concept will only be decided in December, even though the problems have existed for a long time.
A look at the challenges
At the center of these stories is the synthetic opioid fentanyl, which is having devastating effects in the United States. Over 100,000 people die from overdoses every year, and the situation is becoming increasingly dramatic. The report on the devastating consequences in the poorest regions of the USA shines a bright light on the drug crisis.
In the December issue there is also a 16-page annual report from bodo e.V. entitled “What we do”. The sellers also offer the new annual calendars “Favorite Places Bochum” and “Favorite Places Dortmund”, which are available for just 3.50 euros – half of the price stays directly with the sellers. A clear call to support the initiative!
