The city of Heinsberg is facing an exciting transformation! A comprehensive modernization project brings a breath of fresh air for the municipal day care center Lieck. The demolition of the old, dilapidated building on the corner of Rossberg 26/Rosenweg 13 is a decided thing. Originally built as elementary school in 1954 and used as a daycare center since 1994, the building has long been struggling with serious structural defects. Cracks in the ceilings that have occurred since 1964, and repeated pipe breaks have long made the need for a new building.
But that's not all! The new building will not only house the existing three groups, but will also create a fourth group with 20 additional childcare places. This is an urgently needed expansion to cover the steadily growing care needs. The city administration estimated the costs for the demolition and the new building at around 4.1 million euros. Fortunately, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports the project with a promotion of 1.139 million euros as part of the "daycare investment program NRW".
a new building for the future
The new building will remain in the company during the construction period, which means that the children can continue to be looked after while the old building is being torn down. The plans provide to make a spacious outdoor play area after the completion of the new building. The start of construction is planned for 2025 - an exciting step for the city and future generations!
