Stau-alarm: These 10 motorway construction sites bring NRW 2025 into stress!

For 2025, numerous construction sites on the motorways have been announced in North Rhine-Westphalia, which will be accompanied by the past traffic jam and traffic stress. The traffic center Leverkusen of Autobahn GmbH has created a list of ten construction sites that have a high risk of storage. The most important information about this was made by Radio Herford

The first construction site is located on the A1 at the Cologne-Niehl junction. Here the first part of the new Rheinbrücke Leverkusen has been released since February 2024, but in the direction of Dortmund/Leverkusen, bottlenecks can be expected due to the work on the second part of the bridge. The motorway junction also came on the A1 will be affected by numerous new buildings, whereby additional traffic jams and track narrowing are expected. On the A2, the renovation of the entire road at the Bottrop motorway triangle and the Oberhausen cross, where around 120,000 vehicles use the route every day.

comprehensive construction work on several motorways

The A3 is affected in several places: Bridge pieces are replaced at the Cologne-Heumar junction and the Heumar motorway triangle are converted. Renewals and extensions are carried out on the Kaiserberg and Oberhausen cross, which will bring restrictions from April 2025. The Hilden motorway junction and the Langenfeld triangle must also expect a demolition and new building of bridges. The A43 is also expanded to six lanes at the Recklinghausen motorway junction and the Bochum-Riemke junction, supplemented by the new construction of over 20 bridges and a tunnel. Here the bridge over the Rhein-Herne channel is closed to heavy trucks.

In addition, a replacement new building of the Talbrücke Rahmede is planned on the A45 at Lüdenscheid, which will regularly lead to traffic jams, while on the A57 at the Krefeld-Oppum and the Meerbusch motorway junction, a six-lane expansion will be sought by early 2028 and short-term full closures are announced in spring 2025. For the A59 near Monheim and Düsseldorf Süd, speed 80 apply due to road damage, but the renovation of a twelve -kilometer section is only planned for 2026. Until then, short -term closures are possible.

In the Ruhr area, three larger motorway closures for 2025 are planned, such as WDR reported. In June, the A42 will be closed between Kreuz Essen-Nord and Bottrop-Süd for ten days to expand the highway to six traces and renew a pipe bridge. The A43 is also affected because two smaller bridges are torn down between Bochum-Riemke and Herne-Eickel during the year. However, an exact date for this blocking has not yet been determined. The A43 has been gradually expanded to six traces between Marl and Witten for years, which is considered one of the largest motorway projects in NRW and will take many years.
