A dramatic scenario developed on Monday (November 4th) on the A2 between Bielefeld and Gütersloh, when a car fire caused massive traffic disruptions. Kilometers of traffic jams were the result, while drivers had to be patient and ticked the clock.

The fire broke out around 1.30 p.m., but luckily it remained with property damage - nobody was injured. A technical defect in the hybrid vehicle was the culprit, who sparked the fire and let the car open in flames. The fire brigade was quickly on site to control the Situation.

The situation escalated when all three lanes had to be closed towards Dortmund. Drivers were stuck in traffic and had to prepare for a long waiting time.
