Dieter Bohlen about the loss: I am grateful for my parents

Kreta, Griechenland - The Poptitan Dieter Bohlen (70) faces an emotional challenge that many of us fear: the loss of his parents. In a moving interview, the DSDS juror talks about his gratitude and the preparations he made to deal with this difficult reality. "I'm 70, I had my whole life with me," explains Bohlen and is grateful for the support he found out of them.

His mother Edith celebrated her 90th birthday at the end of October, and Bohlen ensures that she always feels how important she is for him. Every week he sends her a magnificent bouquet of flowers. "So much love, understanding and support. The whole strength that flows in me is from my mother," he says. But the hit producer is aware that time does not stand still. "If this is no longer the case, it will be around," he admits, while at the same time emphasizing that he has already mentally regulated everything.

preparation for the farewell

Bohlen speaks openly about the need to prepare for the inevitable loss. "You have to lay it all out so that when that happens and that happens that you have a common thread, like a rope that you can cling to," he explains. These words show that despite his success and happy life, which he shares with his partner Carina (40), he cannot ignore the reality of life and aging.
