Snowstorm ensures chaos: truck accident on the A1 near Barsbüttel!

A dramatic truck accident paralyzed the A1 near Barsbüttel towards Hamburg on Saturday, November 23! At 3.20 a.m., the driver of a tractor -trailer lost control of his vehicle due to snowfall and black ice. The truck rammed another truck and then slipped into the guardrail, where the team stood across and wedged. A shock for everyone involved!

Dangerous diesel exit!

In this terrible collision, the tank of the truck was torn open, and large quantities diesel went out! Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, but the situation was dangerous. The fire brigade had to intervene quickly to eliminate the dangers and pump out the diesel. The rescue and clean-up work dragged on for several hours, which led to enormous traffic jams on the highway and the detour routes.

The full closure of the A1 could only be lifted on Saturday afternoon after the road was thoroughly cleaned. The motorway police started the investigation to find out whether the snowfall and black ice were actually the cause of this terrible accident. The fire brigades from Stemwarde and Stellau as well as the police and emergency services were in action, which did everything they can to control the situation.
