Safe streets in the Harburg district: green maintenance ensures safety!

Things are now going green in the Harburg district! Autumn and winter bring important green maintenance work on federal and state roads, which is essential for traffic safety. Commissioned by the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport, these measures are at the top of the agenda.

A central goal of this work is to remove dead wood from the trees. Why? So that nothing can fall down and become a danger to drivers! But that's not all: If the experienced tree inspectors notice that some trees are no longer stable, they have to be felled. This also includes trimming the trees to ensure a safe clearance profile. This is particularly important for trucks, which are often high!

Important information about the work

This important work takes place every year from October to the end of February and is always carried out with species protection in mind. The State Authority for Road Construction and Transport in Lüneburg asks all road users and those concerned to understand the disruptions and impairments associated with these necessary activities. Safety comes first – and that also applies to our roads!
