Drama in the Elgersweier: Keller fire demands several lifesavers!

A horrific cellar fire kept the Offenburg fire brigade to trot this morning in the Elgersweier industrial estate. At around 6:35 a.m., the first emergency services were called to Robert-Bosch-Straße, where the flames had spread out in a residential and business building. The dramatic rescue operation began with a real large contingent, consisting of 18 vehicles and 65 brave firefighters

Three people were brought to safety by the brisk intervention of the fire brigade, while nine others have already saved themselves independently. This was temporarily taken care of by helpful members of a nearby company. Unfortunately, one person was lifelessly discovered in the building when the fire brigade arrived. In addition, two of the saved people had to be taken to the hospital with suspected smoke poisoning. The danger was real for many people, but the effective mobilization of the emergency services prevented worse.

Large deployment in Elgersweier

The emergency services fought tirelessly against the flames and ensured a comprehensive mechanical smokehouse on the three -storey building. The fast alarm over the standardized alarm algorithm made this large-scale operation of the fire brigade, emergency services and police necessary.
