in Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia, the preparations for the State Garden Show 2026 are in full swing. Mayor Reiner Breuer and the management of LAGA GmbH recently presented the progress of this important project in a construction site management, which is expected to attract over 650,000 visitors.

The State Garden Show, a central component of urban development, is intended to create a new community park that not only offers an attractive leisure offer, but also an ecological added value with 2,200 newly planted trees and a variety of shrubs and hedges. "We have already achieved a lot in the past six weeks. The ecological advantages that are created here set new standards," explains Annette Nothhnagel, Managing Director of Laga GmbH.

In addition, the construction of a new district in neighboring Hammfeld I is planned. Christoph Hölters, a deputy for planning and mobility, explains that this step will not only create living space, but should also revitalize the park through new entrances. "The project not only promotes the green areas, but also brings with it sustainable urban development," says Hölters.

The mobility concept that includes the development of a new cycle fast (RS5) is particularly remarkable. This is intended to significantly improve the connection between Neuss, Düsseldorf and Langenfeld and support the rapid of the mobility transition. Hölters emphasizes that the first section of the bike path has already been completed and that the work for the second construction phase will soon begin.

The anticipation for the new community park and the upcoming garden show can be felt in Neuss. The hands -on association "Green Heart - Bürgerpark Neuss e.V.", under the direction of Sandra Maria Breuer, is actively involved in incorporating the ideas of the citizens into the project. The State Garden Show Neuss 2026 was launched by Laga GmbH in January 2023 and will take place in the period from April 16 to October 11, 2026. The aim is to create a green oasis in the heart of the city, which meets the needs of the residents and visitors.
