Ruhlsdorfer Straße blossomed: saved trees and asphalt disappeared!

Ruhlsdorfer Straße, Deutschland - Ruhlsdorfer Straße shines in new splendor! The green conversion has been completed and has transformed the road into a real paradise. Areas were sealed, trees were saved and new green gullies and disabled parking spaces were created.

Project manager Mehmet Dilek is proud of the result: "Before that, everything was parked here. Now it looks really nice!" The big boulders replace the gray asphalt and domestic wild trees bring fresh green into the area. These plants are perfect for the shady conditions of Ruhlsdorfer Straße, including the large windper and the liver flowers. A real sea of flower that brings the street to bloom!

A crucial point was the rescue of the eight Japanese mustache trees. "We were able to save all the trees," announced environmental city councilor Annika Gerold (Greens) proudly. Despite the challenges and the high costs, it was important to maintain the old trees because they are more resistant than young replantations. The construction company has ensured that the tree roots have enough space by stretching the curb for three meters.

The renovation work cost 32 parking spaces, but the residents seem to be satisfied with it. "Nobody has complained about the loss so far," said Gerold. The entire conversion cost around 160,000 euros, the planting of the tree slices is added. The next big measure is already pending: Richard-Sorge-Straße in Friedrichshain, where trees are also to be saved. A real progress for the city!
