Honoring long-time members: Women's power in Traunstein!
An impressive meeting of the women of the mothers' association recently took place, at which the cashier Luitgard Lutz presented the pleasing cash balances and the generous donations to those in need. Secretary Brigitte Ostermayer let the participants indulge in a look back at the New Year's reception at the Traunstein town church and the women's delicious buffet. A special highlight was the carnival wreath with a blue and white chamber, which caused a lot of joy. The retreat with Sister Rosa Maria Dick, under the motto “Love is action”, attracted 27 committed women.
Traditions and excursions
Tradition is very important: bush binding on Palm Sunday, Assumption Day and Thanksgiving remains an integral part of club life, and the proceeds go towards donations. The spring trip took the women to Rottenbuch, while the autumn trip to picturesque Upper Austria, to the Augustinian Canons' Monastery and to Linz, was another highlight. The seniors' afternoons, led by Agnes Lapper and Marianne Sollacher, are very popular and offer a varied program.
At the local associations' village festival, the women of the mothers' association were in demand late into the night, and a prayer hour for the 40-hour prayer was also organized by the board. The Advent celebration, accompanied by harp playing by Karin Schroll and text contributions by Brigitte Ostermayer, brought a festive atmosphere. Chairwoman Resi Deser has already announced the dates for 2025: After the traditional carnival wreath, the retreat with Superior General Rosa Maria Dick will take place in March. A flea market in June, the proceeds of which go to charitable purposes, also promises a lot of commitment.
An emotional highlight of the annual general meeting was the honoring of long-standing members: Barbara Fischer has been loyal to the club for 25 years, while Adelheid Dangl, Elisabeth Dreher, Josefine Friedlhuber, Anna Kaiser, Michaela Wimmer and Barbara Wurm have been there for 40 years. Rosmarie Jobst is celebrating 50 years, Gertrud Ott and Edith Streitwieser have been members for 60 years, and Elise Eisenreich can look back on a proud 65 years. A truly moving moment for everyone present!
