Riot on the A93: Drunk drivers triggers hours of blocking!

Last weekend, the Regensburg traffic police consistently acted against speeding. The focus was particularly on the Nibelungenbrücke, where not only razors, but also a drunk driver caused excitement.

In the night from Saturday to Sunday, between 8:10 p.m. and 4:40 a.m., a total of 1794 vehicles were checked on the Nibelungen Bridge. The police caught 82 drivers who exceeded the permissible top speed of 50 km/h. The hurriedest among them was on the road with an incredible 136 km/h. He now has to expect high consequences: at least 800 euros punishment, two points in Flensburg and a driving ban for three months.

warnings and high penalties for traffic offenders

The controls on the A93 motorway, in which the police carried out speed measurements, also showed significant results. Between 5:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. 3839 vehicles were measured; A considerable proportion of 589 vehicles drove too quickly. The case of a driver who was flashed at 115 km/h is particularly drastic, which should bring him a penalty of at least 480 euros, two points and a month of driving. On the BG between Pfatter and Geisling, where a speed limit of 70 km/h applies, a further 13 rapid offenses were found.

The preventive lightning campaigns are part of the police strategies to increasingly act against racers and increase traffic safety. According to the police, speed overruns are an essential factor for traffic accidents and their severity. Therefore, the urgency is urged to strictly adhere to the speed limits.

alcoholic driver causes total lock

not only racers made for negative headlines. A heavily alcoholic driver became a further problem. He lost control of his Mercedes on the A93 towards Munich, first crashed into the guardrail and was then thrown back to a concrete wall of the construction site there. With a blood alcohol content of two per thousand, the journey was a devastating risk.

The effects of his driving behavior were considerable: the police had to completely block the highway for two hours to recover the car. The total damage caused is estimated at around 18,000 euros. Such incidents illustrate the risk of driving under the influence of alcohol and the need for stricter measures for traffic safety.

In view of these incidents, it remains to be seen how the authorities will react to these alarming developments, especially with regard to alcohol at the wheel and speed overruns. Traffic safety is the top priority to make the streets safer for all road users. Further information on these incidents are here to read.
