Landau in der Pfalz, Deutschland - The Landau Zoo has recorded a new Siberian tiger named Daría. Daría was transported from the zoo in the Hungarian debrecen to Landau and has been handed over to Zoo Director Jens-Ove Heckel and his team since Tuesday, January 7, 2023. The zoo is happy to have a big cat in the enclosure after half a year after the previous tigers, Igor and Ninoshka had to be put to sleep in the summer of 2022 due to illness. Both animals lived in Landauer Zoo for 14 years.
However, Daría has arrived alone because her sister Dana was not transportable. During the preparations for loading, Dana was injured, which is why the time for her transport is currently uncertain. Before Daría can be seen in the outdoor enclosure of the zoo, she needs a familiarization phase. She is currently getting to know her indoor and anxiety to familiarize herself with the new environment. The Zooteam and Daría have time to interact with each other before the interesting big cat is presented to visitors.
