With the start of the new kindergarten year in September 2024, the new children of the Kindergarten Friedenskirche experienced exciting first encounters. They made contacts together, got to know the educational staff and explore a variety of game materials. This experiences not only made the little ones, but also their parents to the exciting chapter of getting used to, which meant that for many the entry into a new phase of life.

In order to appreciate this special moment in the life of the families, a “getting to know” festival was organized, which served as a platform to exchange each other and share the first experiences. Both the new children and their parents had the opportunity to make contacts in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know each other better.

The preparations for the festival also included a creative baking campaign in which the children created cake together with the pedagogical staff. These treats were very well received when they were later served with coffee and cold drinks. The relaxed atmosphere of the afternoon was supplemented by an exciting treasure hunt in the garden, in which the children went hunting for sparkling pearls and gemstones. Despite the inconsistent weather that did not want to play entirely, the good mood remained unbroken, and the afternoon became a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

The day not only was a nice opportunity for the children to network, but also for the parents to exchange ideas about the challenges and joys that the familiarization phase brings. The educator Irene Müller expressed enthusiastically about the positive feedback that she received from the participating families. Such events not only promote cohesion among families, but also make the familiarization easier and more pleasant.
