Literary autumn in Freising: stories for young and old!

Freising, Deutschland - A literary fireworks unfold in Freising! The 42nd literary autumn has started and brings a wealth of stories and authors to the city. This Thursday, the event was opened in the old prison with a vernissage by the Italian artist Simona Mulazzani. The Modern Studio Association, led by the committed organizers Irmgard Koch and Helma Dietz, has put together an exciting program for young and old that includes readings and hands -on activities in the city library.

The series of events is now an integral part of the Freising Culture autumn. Irmgard Koch emphasizes the close cooperation with schools that make the readings a "main activity" of literary autumn in the morning. In a total of nine events, books by authors are read out at various schools. "Unfortunately, the public has little of this, but the schools have the greatest trust in us," explains Koch. This initiative promotes reading culture and brings exciting literature directly to the students.

The return of public readings for young people is particularly gratifying. Koch hopes that the selection of topics and venues, such as the JUZ and the Café Junkers, will attract many young people. On November 13th, Dirk Reinhardt will read from his novel "No Alternative", who deals with the climate protests. Anja Reumschüssel will read on November 29 from her new book "About the roofs of Jerusalem", which addresses the conflict on the Gaza strip. "It is very difficult to inspire young people for cultural events," admits Koch, but she remains optimistic.

The careful selection of the authors and books is a big concern. "We are primarily concerned with literary upbringing," says Koch. They want to offer the young readers stories that encourage their imagination and let them look outside the box. "It is important to show them that there are other literature than the currently trendy New Adult and Romantasy books," she adds. The accompanying exhibition with book illustrations by Simona Mulazzani, which can be seen until December 1, rounds off the literary experience and offers both adults and children a visual pleasure.
