Bavarian cities in the climate test: eight municipalities show innovative solutions!
München, Deutschland - climate change poses major challenges with cities and municipalities, and eight municipalities have become active in Bavaria to develop air conditioning concepts. As part of a three -year model project by the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport
in Munich, Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) presented the results of the project. According to Bernreiter, cities and municipalities play a crucial role in climate protection. "You have the planning sovereignty and can make a significant contribution to the climate adjustment," he emphasized. This is not only shown in the protection of the population from extreme weather conditions, but also in improving the quality of life through more green areas.
the participants and their approaches
The municipalities involved in the model project are Freising, Landshut, Deggendorf, Neumarkt, Coburg, Schwabach, Lohr am Main and Memmingen. During the project period, they received both technical support and financial means to develop their urban planning climate adaptation concepts. These concepts should contribute to settlement development and counteract the effects of climate change.
One of the central findings of the project is that such climate adaptation measures are not only cost -effective because they prevent future damage, but also protect the character of the cities. "The model project has really proven itself, because the eight model communities went in advance and have had valuable experience," said Bernreiter. This illustrates how important the exchange of best practice is between the municipalities.
An additional advantage of this model project is to create a digital guide for all Bavarian municipalities. This guide contains experiences, practical examples and important knowledge from the model municipalities. The Minister of Construction encouraged other cities to adopt the topic of climate adaptation and to develop strategies at an early stage. The model project not only served as a platform for professional exchange, but also for scientific advice. The municipalities involved examined the effects of climate change on site and developed concrete measures, some of which have already been implemented.
This step towards a more climate -friendly urban development is not only a sign of proactive urban planning, but also an important part of adaptation to the changing climatic conditions. Further information on this model project can be found at www.stadt-und-werk.de. .
