Modern fashion for Sigmaringen: DUE MODA” inspires after Esprit's bankruptcy
The news of Esprit's bankruptcy in August caused great consternation, especially in cities like Sigmaringen, where the fashion group's branch played an important role. Wolfgang Hofmann, the owner of the Hofmann fashion house, describes the reaction as shocking: “We were all sad and faced with the question of what to do next.” But as is often the case, life quickly opened up new avenues.
Now, less than two months after the shocking news, a surprising turnaround can be observed in the “DUE MODA” store in Sigmaringen. Regina Binder, who has been running the business for 16 years now, is full of optimism: “The initial feedback from customers is an incentive: everyone is very happy with the new fashion.” The fresh offers seem to be taking the hearts of customers by storm.
A touch of Italy
The new store not only stocks German brands, but also Italian designs. “Smith & Soul” and “M.O.D” are some of the partners who continue to offer imports from Germany. The new contracts with Italian suppliers are particularly pleasing for Hofmann: “nuuc” and “larahutt” now enrich the range, and the Italian flair is clearly noticeable. “This trendy fashion currently comes mainly from Italy,” he says, as the new pieces showcase a variety of leopard prints and other trendy styles. The special thing: This fashion is only available in Sigmaringen at “DUE MODA”.
With the faster supply chains of Italian companies, the business can react to trends much more quickly than most German providers. This gives the business a real competitive advantage.
The target group in view
The name “DUE MODA” comes from the Italian word for “two” and makes it clear that this is Hofmann’s second store in Sigmaringen. Regina Binder emphasizes that the fashion items are aimed specifically at women aged 15 and over: “We have already had some very good days,” she adds. The sales figures are “really crazy,” confirms Wolfgang Hofmann, which indicates a positive response.
For the opening ceremony next weekend, October 4th and 5th, everyone from Sigmaringen is cordially invited to enjoy snacks and drinks and to experience the new fashion pieces up close. Especially for fans of the old Esprit collection, “DUE MODA” still offers a corner where the last items of clothing are sold - an ideal opportunity to secure the last pieces from the former brand.
The shift from the Esprit store to “DUE MODA” shows how quickly retail can adapt. This development has fueled hope for a flourishing fashion future for Sigmaringen.
