Carlsen triumphs in his debut for FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga!
In the fifth round of the chess league, the Norwegian world chess world champion Magnus Carlsen celebrated his impressive comeback for FC St. Pauli. Carlsen competed against Max Warmerdam with the black stones and was able to successfully win the game. Warmerdam had difficulty countering Carlsen's English variant that developed into a royal person. Carlsen explained an inaccurate peasant advance of Warmerdam on the eleventh train before playing strategically a stronger push according to E3, which ensured that he secured a clear position advantage.

While Carlsen was victorious that day, David Howell was the only player of FC St. Pauli who lost his game against Erwin L´Ami.
