Drunk driving: E-scooter driver stopped in Betzdorf!
A nighttime traffic stop in Betzdorf caused a stir on October 17, 2024, when the police stopped a 32-year-old man on an e-scooter. The check took place on Wilhelmstrasse, and shortly after one o'clock the driver was checked because of the smell of alcohol.
The breath alcohol test showed a value of just under one per mille. This resulted in the driver being banned from continuing his journey. A blood sample was also taken and the man now faces a misdemeanor charge. The Neuwied/Rhein police department transmitted this information that same morning, and Betzdorf officials made it clear that they were taking tough action against drunk driving.
