North Rhine-Westphalia faces a drastic challenge in the education sector: An acute lack of teachers concerns schools across the country. School Minister Dorothee Feller (CDU) recognizes the problems and even admits that the situation is serious. In an interview with Ruhr24, Feller emphasized that from the more than 200,000 employees in NRW schools, the number of teachers who canceled has risen to almost 1,000 within a decade. This alarming development in particular meets younger educators who often have better opportunities outside the school sector today.
