Burgenland's musical talents inspire at the prima la musica competition!
The Joseph Haydn Private University in Eisenstadt was the venue for the Burgenland state competition “prima la musica” from March 2nd to 9th, in which over 200 young musicians demonstrated their talent. On March 16, 2025, the prizewinners' concert was celebrated in the Liszt Center Raiding, where the winners were honored with certificates by State Councilor Daniela Winkler and State Music School Officer Gerhard Gutschik. Winkler not only praised the musical achievements, but also emphasized the importance of making music together for the social development of young people. The competition makes it possible to promote musical talents and qualify them for the national competition, which will take place in Vienna from May 28th to June 9th, 2025 burgenland.at reported.
Outstanding achievements and new perspectives
The results of the competition are impressive: 26 first prizes with the right to participate in the national competition, 32 first prizes with distinction and numerous other prizes were awarded. The achievements in the prima la musicaPLUS category are particularly noteworthy, where 15 participants won gold and qualified directly for the national competition. The competition is not only a platform for musical talent, but also a confirmation of the excellent musical education in Burgenland, as can be seen from the numerous feedback from the organizers.
In a completely different area of creative work, students were able to get to know various experts, including journalists and editors, in the “Learn to Write with Professionals” program. The regional correspondent of the Schwäbische Zeitung, Kara Ballarin, discussed with the participants what is important in a good commentary, while Stephan Askani from Klett-Cotta-Verlag spoke about the fascination of fantastic literature. This direct interaction with professionals gave the students an unforgettable experience and inspired them to further develop their own writing skills, complemented by their experiences deutsch-klett.de.
