Teddy Bärkrankenhaus opens its doors: small doctors test their skills!

Weihburggasse 10-12, 1010 Wien, Österreich - A very special project took place this week in Vienna: the Teddybärkrankenhaus has opened its doors! From December 3 to 7, children can come to the clinic with their beloved cuddly toys, where they are medically treated by the "Teddy-Docs", students of the MedUni Vienna. Many small patients, including teddies and other soft toys, were subjected to this exciting “hospital visit”, which simulates a real emergency room and various treatment stations.

The action that takes place for the 21st time this year is pursuing the goal of taking away the fear of visiting the doctor for the children. The cute cuddly fans can go through an EKG or even an X -ray in the clinic. Supported by professionals from medicine, including the President of the Chamber for Doctors in Vienna, Johannes Steinhart, and Anita Holzinger, curriculum director of dentistry at the MedUni, the young assistant doctors took care of the health concerns of the teddys. The rush is great: hundreds of children already brought their favorite pieces to examination, as the orf reported.

The teddy bear hospital is open from Monday до Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free. The mornings are reserved for registered school classes, while spontaneous visits are welcome in the afternoon. In order to ensure a smooth process, they are asked to bring slippers or sports shoes. A visit to this unique facility not only offers a good opportunity to reduce fears, but above all is a lot of fun!
